VFX Final Piece

Over the past year at college I have created a VFX piece. When I say “past year”, I mean that it’s actually been done for quite a while now; I’m only just getting round to put it o n my blog as I have been very busy.

Before I started creating my VFX piece, I decided to create an info-graphic showing multiple different shot types and also gave a brief explanation of pixel density and exposure. This can be seen below.

After I had made my info-graphic, I decided to create a story board. I would have inserted this below but I could not find the file anywhere. However, my general idea was to have a machine gun turret continuously fire bullets as it turns. This would allow me to use Maya (a 3D modelling program) to model the turret and also use Adobe After Effects (a VFX software) to add the bullet effect. This is exactly what I did.

The final video below is the final product of what I made. As you can see it is quite simplistic but I think that it is decent for my first VFX video.

There is certainly room for improvement but this is the best I could do with the time frame I had.
